Okay, so I gotta tell you about this whole Belmont Stakes weather thing.

First off, I heard the big boss of New York, Kathy Hochul, saying they might just cancel the whole Belmont Stakes race if the air quality was crappy. I mean, they already stopped the races at Belmont Park on Thursday because of it. That’s nuts! I saw some tags about it online, like Belmont Stakes, New York, and Associated Press. Seemed pretty serious.
Then, I dug a little deeper. Turns out, the word on the street was that there might be some rain. But get this – any rain that did show up was gonna be all on and off, you know, not steady. And the best part? They said the chance of rain was gonna get smaller and smaller starting around 4 or 5 in the afternoon. So, fingers crossed, it looked like the race might actually happen with decent weather.
I also found out something cool about the money side of things. You won’t believe this, but this year’s Belmont purse is a whopping $2 million! Can you imagine all that cash? That’s some serious dough for those horses and their owners. They’re definitely in it to win it.
So, to sum it all up, here’s what I did:
-
Checked the News:
Heard about the potential cancellation from the New York Governor. That got me worried, so I looked into it some more.
-
Looked at the Forecast:
Found out the rain situation. It was supposed to be light and go away in the late afternoon. That was a relief!
-
Found the Prize Money:
Discovered the huge $2 million purse. Wow! That’s a lot of motivation for everyone involved.
That’s all the process I did about the weather and other things at the Belmont Stakes. Hope you guys find it interesting!
