Chris Paul Son Blake Face: What Did He Mean by That?

Hey everyone, so today I wanna talk about something that’s been on my mind for a while – the whole “Chris Paul’s son’s Blake face” thing. You know, that hilarious moment from way back when? I’ve actually spent some time digging into this, trying to recreate it with my own kid, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey!

Chris Paul Son Blake Face: What Did He Mean by That?

It all started when I stumbled upon some old clips of Chris Paul and his son, little Chris, at a press conference. This was back in, like, 2012, after the Clippers beat the Grizzlies. Little Chris was sitting on his dad’s lap, and Chris Paul, being the playful dad he is, asked his son to show everyone his “Blake face.” And man, that kid delivered! He scrunched up his face in this hilarious way, trying to imitate Blake Griffin, I guess. I thought, “I gotta try this with my own little guy!”

So, I pulled up some pictures of Blake Griffin for reference. I watched some videos of him playing, trying to analyze his game and all. And then, the real fun began. I sat my son down and tried to explain what I wanted him to do. “Okay, buddy,” I said, “I want you to make a funny face, like this guy, Blake Griffin.” I showed him the pictures, did my best attempt at a “Blake face” myself, and waited for my son to mirror me. It was a mess!

  • First, he just stared at me blankly.
  • Then, he started giggling uncontrollably.
  • Finally, he made a face, but it looked nothing like Blake’s. It was more like a confused puppy than a basketball star.

We tried this several times, over several days. I showed him more pictures, made more silly faces myself, and even tried to bribe him with some treats (don’t judge me!). We got a few chuckles out of it, but no dice. My kid just wasn’t getting it.

I started watching some more videos about Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. It seems they had a bit of a complicated relationship on the court, you know, some passive-aggressive stuff. I even read something about Chris Paul’s son choosing his jersey number because of his dad, which was pretty sweet.

Then I remembered some news about Chris Paul getting injured, something about his hand. This guy has been through a lot! I found out he has two kids, a son, Chris Jr. , and a daughter, Camryn. He seems like a really dedicated dad.

The Realization

After all this “research” and failed attempts to recreate the “Blake face,” I realized something. It wasn’t about getting my son to perfectly imitate Blake Griffin. It was about having fun, creating a silly memory, and maybe even sparking his interest in basketball, just like Chris Paul probably did with his son. And in that, I think we succeeded. We might not have a viral video on our hands, but we definitely have a fun story to tell. And maybe, just maybe, my son will look back on this one day and appreciate his old man’s goofy attempts at bonding.

So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with the “Chris Paul son Blake face” saga. It was a lot more involved than I initially thought, but hey, that’s life, right? You start with a simple idea, and before you know it, you’re down a rabbit hole of basketball history and player dynamics. But in the end, it’s all about those little moments with your kids, those silly memories that make you smile. And for that, I’m grateful.
