Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the world of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to figure out the best order to tackle the planets, you know, to get the most out of the story and all that jazz.

So, first off, I started poking around online, reading through forums and discussions. Lots of folks had different opinions, but a common suggestion was Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, and then Korriban. Sounded like a decent route, so I decided to give it a shot.
I also noticed people mentioning this Yavin IV item shop run by a guy named Suvam Tan. Apparently, this dude sells some seriously OP gear. The catch is, his inventory updates after you beat a planet or two. So, I made a mental note to swing by Yavin IV every so often. Good strategy for every player I think.
My Gaming Experience
- I kicked things off with Tatooine. It felt like a good starting point, you know, getting my feet wet and all. Plus, who doesn’t love a desert planet filled with Tusken Raiders and sand?
- Next up, I headed to Kashyyyk. This place was a whole different vibe, with all the Wookiees and the lush forests. I spent a good chunk of time exploring and soaking it all in.
- Manaan was next on my list. An underwater city? Yes, please! I dove into the depths, dealt with some Selkath, and even got involved in some underwater courtroom drama. This planet is also a good place to farm Light Side points if you’re into that.
- Finally, I made my way to Korriban. This place is dark, and I mean DARK. Sith training, ancient tombs, it had it all. It felt like a fitting place to wrap things up, story-wise. I’ve heard some players save it for last because the story arcs kinda come together there, and I see why. Also, the challenge here is amped up. I actually found myself reloading a few times.
Throughout my journey, I made sure to hit up Suvam Tan on Yavin IV. Seriously, that dude’s shop is a lifesaver. I snagged some sweet gear that made the later parts of the game a bit more manageable.
I also tried to complete some character backstories. I know some folks online were asking about the best order for that, but honestly, I didn’t find a definitive answer. I managed to wrap up some of them, but others, like Juhani’s, were still a work in progress when I finished the main story. I guess you could just follow the Bastila suggestion of Tatooine, Kashyyyk, and Manaan for those.
All in all, it was a blast. KOTOR’s got that old-school RPG charm, and figuring out the planet order just added another layer of fun to the whole experience.
