Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into the world of minor league baseball lately, trying to get a jump on my fantasy leagues for next year. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole, let me tell you. I started by just wanting to know who the big names were, the guys everyone was talking about.
I figured I’d check out some of those “Top 100” lists that people put out. You know, the ones that rank all the up-and-coming players. And guess what? There are tons of them! I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through different rankings, trying to make sense of it all. These lists, I should also point out, have been around for like 20 years! That’s some history.
My first step was really just getting familiar with the names. I wrote down a bunch of them, the ones that seemed to pop up on multiple lists. Then I started digging into their stats, trying to see what all the fuss was about. Some of these guys have some seriously impressive numbers, even though they’re still in the minors.
One thing I quickly realized is that there’s a big difference between a guy who’s tearing it up in Single-A and someone who’s doing well in Triple-A. So I tried to focus on players who were closer to the majors, the ones who might actually make an impact on my fantasy team next season. I also had to take note that some of these rankings go as deep as 1000 players! I thought 100 was already a lot!
