Alright, let’s dive into this whole mess with Matt Hamill’s DQ, the one where Jon Jones got the boot. People won’t shut up about it, so I figured I’d throw my hat in the ring and share what I did.

First off, I went back and watched that fight again. You know, just to refresh my memory. Man, it’s a wild one. Jones was just dominating, throwing all kinds of crazy stuff. Then came those elbows.
- I started digging into the rules, especially about those 12-6 elbows, the ones that go straight down. Seems they’ve been a no-no for a while.
- Then I looked up what folks were saying. Andy Foster, some bigwig from the California State Athletic Commission, he’s all for overturning Jones’s only loss. Interesting, right?
And you know what else I found? Back in the day, Hamill’s stepfather was a wrestling coach, and Hamill himself? He studied at the Rochester Institute of Technology, something about electro-mechanical technology, after transferring from Purdue University. Smart guy, I guess. Graduated in 1999, apparently.
But back to the fight. I started thinking, what if they changed that rule? What if those 12-6 elbows were suddenly okay? Would it change the outcome? Would Hamill still have that win, even if it’s by DQ?
So, I started messing around with a couple of online forums where fight fans hang out, just casually dropping some “what if” questions, and stirring the pot.
I decided to create a video, to show these elbows, and discuss about that, just like that.

I gathered some old interviews, and made a list of those “illegal” elbows.
You know what really got me? Dana White, the UFC boss, he thinks this whole DQ thing should have been tossed out a long time ago. Says it should have been overturned before they even thought about changing the rules on those elbows.
I made my own video, put it on my blog, wrote something about it, and sat there, waiting for the comments.
So I decided to do just that. I wrote a whole post about it, laying out all the facts, the rules, what everyone’s saying, and then my own crazy idea. And you know what? People started talking. They debated, they argued, some even agreed with me. It was a total mess, but a fun one.
And that’s about it, I finished my blog, posted it, and boom. Maybe I just like stirring things up, or maybe I actually think there’s something to this whole DQ thing. Either way, it’s always fun to get people talking, right?

My Conclusion
I think that’s all, I just shared my opinion, I got a lot of responses, some good, some not so good. But anyway, I think it’s all good and done.
