Alright, let’s talk about this Siege marketplace beta thing I’ve been messing with.

Heard about it bubbling up, you know, Ubisoft finally letting us trade skins like in some other games. Sounded interesting, got a bunch of old stuff I don’t use, maybe someone else wants it. Figured I’d give it a look when I got the chance.

Getting In

First thing, had to actually get access. Seemed like they were rolling it out slowly. Checked my email, checked the game launcher, think I eventually got a notification saying I was eligible. Had to have that two-factor authentication thing turned on, which I already did, thankfully. And I think my account needed to be a certain level, which wasn’t an issue for me. So, clicked whatever link or button they gave me and logged in with my Ubi account.

First Look Around

Okay, landed on the page. Looked pretty straightforward, not too flashy. Saw my inventory on one side, stuff people were selling on the other. Filters and search bars were there. It wasn’t confusing, which is good. Clicked around a bit, checked out the sections for buying, selling, and managing my own listings. Seemed simple enough.

Trying to Sell Something

Decided the best way to test was to try selling. Got this old seasonal skin, never really liked it. Found it in my inventory list on the site. Clicked ‘sell’. Then you gotta set a price. Looked at what others were asking for the same skin. Some prices were nuts, others seemed kinda low. I just picked a price somewhere in the middle, maybe a bit lower than the lowest asking price, just wanted to see if it would move. Confirmed it. They showed something about taking a cut of the credits if it sold, which is expected I guess. My item then showed up under my ‘active listings’. Now, just had to wait.

  • Found the item in my inventory on the site.
  • Checked other listings for the same item.
  • Set my price in R6 Credits.
  • Confirmed the listing, saw the transaction fee notice.
  • Waited for a buyer.

Checked back later, maybe a day or so? And yeah, it sold! Got a notification, credits appeared in my account balance on the site, minus their fee. Pretty smooth process actually.

Trying to Buy Something

Okay, selling worked. Now, buying. There was this one weapon skin I missed from an event way back. Typed its name into the search bar. Found a few listings. Again, prices were all over the place. Some guy wanted a fortune. Found one that seemed… well, not cheap, but less crazy than the others. Had enough credits from my sale and some leftover ones. Clicked ‘buy’. Confirmed it. Credits deducted instantly. Went into the game later, checked my inventory, and bam, the skin was there. Nice. That worked fine too.

Thoughts on the Beta Experience

So, using it was pretty simple. Listing was easy, buying was easy. The items actually appeared in-game quickly after buying, which was my main concern. It’s definitely nice to have some way to get specific items you missed or get rid of stuff you don’t want.

But it’s still clearly a beta.

  • Sometimes the pages felt a bit slow to load.
  • The search could be better, maybe more filter options.
  • The prices are kinda wild west right now. People asking for insane amounts for common stuff sometimes. Guess that’s just market dynamics.
  • Didn’t see a huge variety of stuff when I first looked, but maybe that’ll grow.

Overall? It works. It does the basic job of letting you trade items for credits. It’s not perfect, needs some polish, maybe better tools for searching and price checking. But for a beta, it’s a decent start. Definitely gonna keep an eye on it, maybe offload some more dust collectors from my inventory.
