My First Look at Patrick James Stuff
Alright, so I’d been seeing the name Patrick James pop up here and there. You know how it is, you see an ad, maybe a buddy mentions it. Didn’t think much of it at first, just another clothing brand, right?
But then I was walking past one of their actual stores the other week. Had some time to kill, so I figured, why not? Let’s just go in and see what this Patrick James thing is actually like. Curiosity got the better of me, I guess.
Walked inside. It wasn’t one of those super slick, intimidating places. Felt kinda relaxed, actually. Wood fixtures, clothes neatly laid out. Staff didn’t jump on me right away, which I appreciate. Just gave a nod and let me browse.
So, I started poking around. Looking at their main line, the stuff they seem to push as their core items. Their ‘first brands’ or whatever you wanna call it. Sweaters, shirts, some pants. Standard guy stuff.
I picked up a few things just to get a feel for them:
- A knit sweater – felt pretty substantial, decent weight to it. Not flimsy.
- Some button-down shirts – looked okay, patterns weren’t too wild.
- A polo shirt – classic style, seemed versatile.
Went over to the fitting room with a couple of shirts. Tried ’em on. The fit was alright, pretty standard sizing, maybe a little generous which is fine by me. Nothing groundbreaking, but comfortable enough. The material felt good against the skin, didn’t feel cheap.
Spent a bit just looking at the stitching, the buttons. Seemed well put together. You can usually tell if something’s gonna fall apart after one wash, and this stuff felt more durable than that.
In the end, I decided to grab one of the polo shirts. It seemed like a safe bet, something I’d actually wear regularly. Didn’t break the bank, but it wasn’t bargain-basement cheap either. Kind of mid-range pricing, I’d say.
Took it to the counter. The checkout process was smooth. Lady folded it up nicely, put it in a bag. Polite, efficient. No complaints there.
Been wearing that polo for a couple of weeks now. Washed it a few times. It’s held up well. Color hasn’t faded much, shape is still good. It’s comfortable, does the job.
So, my first real experience with Patrick James? It was okay. Decent quality clothes, classic styles. Nothing revolutionary, but solid stuff if that’s what you’re looking for. A bit pricier than some places, but seems like the quality might be worth it. I might check them out again if I need something specific.
