1995 Knicks Pacers, What a Game!

That year, 1995, them Pacers, they was somethin’ else. They come into town, tryin’ to take on our Knicks. Everybody was watchin’, that’s for sure.

  • That Reggie Miller, he was a skinny fella, but could he shoot!
  • We all hated him, but you gotta give it to him.
  • The Knicks, they had that Ewing fella. Big guy.

These two teams, the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers, they didn’t like each other much. Not one bit. Every time they played, it was like a family feud. You know, like them Hatfields and McCoys. That’s what that Miller fella said, and he was right.

Knicks vs Pacers 1995, a Real Rivalry

They played each other a whole bunch in them playoff games. Six times, I reckon, from ’93 to 2000. And every time, it was a fight. That Spike Lee, he was always there, yellin’ and screamin’. He sure did love them Knicks.

One time, back in 1995, Pacers beat the Knicks. It was a close one, 97-95. Broke our hearts, it did. We thought the Knicks had it, but them Pacers, they just kept comin’. It was a shock, I tell ya. We was not happy campers that day.

  • Knicks was good that year, real good.
  • But them Pacers, they was just a little bit better.
  • That’s just the way it goes sometimes.

There was this other game, I think it was May 7th, 1995. Pacers won that one too, 107-105. Another nail biter. Them Pacers, they just had our number that year.

1995, a Tough Year for the Knicks

It was a tough year for us Knicks fans. We really wanted to win. We thought we had a good team, and we did, but it just wasn’t enough. Them Pacers, they was just too strong.

I remember one game, the Knicks almost lost. It was a real disaster, almost. But that Ewing, he saved the day. Spun around and made a shot with just a little bit of time left. We was all jumpin’ up and down, hollerin’ and screamin’. It was a good day, that one.

That 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals, that’s what they called it. Fancy name for a bunch of guys throwin’ a ball around, if you ask me. But it sure was excitin’.

  • Everyone was talkin’ ’bout it.
  • Even folks who didn’t know nothin’ ’bout basketball was watchin’.
  • It was the talk of the town, that’s for sure.

I remember watchin’ one of them games on May 21, 1995. I don’t recall who won, but I remember it was a good one. Lots of yellin’ and jumpin’. Just like all them Knicks and Pacers games.

Remembering the Knicks Pacers Games

Those games between the Knicks and the Pacers, they was somethin’ special. Even though we lost a lot of ’em, they was still fun to watch. You never knew what was gonna happen. Kept ya on the edge of your seat, that’s for sure.

I remember one time, they showed two of them old games on TV. One was from 1991, Pacers vs Celtics. And the other was from 1995, Pacers vs Knicks. It was fun to watch ’em again. Brought back a lot of memories.

Them Knicks and Pacers games, they was always a big deal. They was like a big party. Everybody got together, watched the game, ate some food, had some drinks. It was a good time, even when we lost. ‘Course, it was better when we won, but ya can’t win ’em all, I reckon. That 1995 Knicks Pacers game, though, that one still stings a little. We was so close!

I still remember them games like it was yesterday. I can still see that Miller fella, shootin’ them long shots. And that Ewing, tryin’ to block ’em. It was a real battle, I tell ya. And that Spike Lee, jumpin’ up and down on the sidelines. He was a character, that one.

Yeah, them 1995 Knicks Pacers games, they was somethin’ else. Somethin’ else entirely. I wouldn’t trade them memories for nothin’. Not for all the tea in China.
