Oh, honey, you wanna know ’bout them podcasts, huh? The ones talkin’ ’bout the NFL and the NBA? Well, let me tell ya, there’s a whole bunch of ’em. It’s like tryin’ to count chickens in a coop after a fox got in!
Who’s Talkin’ ‘Bout Football?
Now, for that NFL football, there’s a few I hear folks talkin’ ’bout. There’s this one, they call it “Around the NFL.” Sounds like they just run their mouths ’bout everything happenin’, don’t it? Then there’s somethin’ called “The Ringer NFL Show.” Don’t know what a ringer is, but I guess it’s important in football!
And that Bill Simmons fella, he’s got one too. It’s called, you guessed it, “The Bill Simmons Podcast.” He talks about all sorts of sports, that one. That’s what I hear, anyway.
Then you got some fancy ones, like “The Athletic’s NFL Podcast.” I don’t know about you, but it sounds like they think they’re better than everyone else. But they got that Robert Mays and Derrik Klassen, they sure know their stuff, or so I’m told.
Oh, and there’s one for bettin’, too! It’s called “Even Money Podcast”. I don’t gamble, myself. Too risky. Rather put my money in a jar under the mattress!
- “Around the NFL” – They talk ’bout all the news and such.
- “The Ringer NFL Show” – Don’t know what a ringer is, but it sounds football-y.
- “The Bill Simmons Podcast” – He talks ’bout all kinds of sports, not just NFL.
- “The Athletic’s NFL Podcast” – They sound fancy, but they know their football.
- “Even Money Podcast” – That’s for the gamblers.
- “Peacock and Williamson NFL Show” – I guess these two fellas like to chat about football.
- “PFF NFL Podcast” – Don’t know what PFF is, but they talk about the news.
What About That Basketball?
Now, for that NBA basketball, it’s a little different. Seems like them basketball folks don’t have as many of these talkin’ shows. But there’s this one, “All the Smoke.” That’s what those young folks, Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, call it. They used to play, you know. Now they just yap on the radio, I reckon.
There are some of the same folks talkin’ ’bout basketball, too. That Bill Simmons, he’s got his fingers in every pie, don’t he? He talks about the NBA on his show, too. I hear folks talkin’ about it all the time in the store.
So Many Choices!
Lord, there’s so many of these things. I can hardly keep up. They are always adding new ones, too. It is like weeds in the garden, just popping up everywhere.
It really depends on what you’re lookin’ for, I reckon. You want folks just chattin’ ’bout the games? You want those fancy-pants analysts tellin’ you all the numbers and such? You want to hear from the players themselves? It’s a lot to take in, ain’t it?
I say the best thing to do is find some and listen for yourself. I don’t know much about it, but I hear you can find them on your phone and computer. Seems like everyone got their favorites.

- “The Bill Simmons Podcast” – He talks ’bout the NBA, too.
- Then there is “The NBA on FOX Podcast”. I guess they show basketball on the TV, too.
NFL and NBA, they sure got a lot of folks talkin’, don’t they? More than we got folks yappin’ at the general store, and that’s sayin’ somethin’!
If you like to hear about the NFL, you might like that “NFL on FOX Podcast”, too. I heard some fellas, Peter Schrager and Dave Helman, talkin’ on there. They sound like they know what’s what.
You know, all these podcasts. Some are good for bettin’, some good for news, some just good for listenin’ to folks who know more ’bout NFL and NBA than I ever will. You just gotta find the one that suits you, like findin’ the right pair of shoes. Gotta be comfortable, you know?
Well, I hope that helps ya some, honey. It’s a lot to remember, I know. But just try a few out and see which ones you like. It is like tryin’ on a new dress, you never know until you try. Just don’t get lost in all that internet stuff. It’s a big world out there, bigger than our little town, that’s for sure! Just remember your old grandma when you’re listenin’ to all those fancy NFL and NBA shows. Maybe you can tell me all about ’em sometime!
