You know that 2010 Indianapolis Colts, that football team? Lord, they was somethin’ else that year. That was their 58th season playin’ in that big ol’ National Football League, and the 27th year playin’ in Indianapolis. They was good, real good. That Jim Caldwell, he was the head coach, the second year he had that job.

They was the champs of the AFC the year before, you know. And in 2010, they was tryin’ to do it again, get to that Super Bowl XLV. That was a big deal. Everyone was watchin’ them Colts.
They played 10 wins and 6 losses that year. Ten wins! Can you believe it? They was the best in the AFC South, 1st place! And 3rd in the whole AFC. They was climbin’ that ladder, tryin’ to get to the top.
- They was good at throwin’ that ball.
- That Peyton Manning, he was their quarterback, a real star.
- They had some good runners too, makin’ those touchdowns.
They started the season playin’ the Houston Texans, down in that Reliant Stadium. That’s in Texas, you know. A big ol’ stadium. They was playin’ hard, tryin’ to win that first game. It’s always important to start strong, you know? Like plantin’ seeds in the spring, gotta get that good start.
They had some good players that year. I remember seein’ them on the TV, runnin’ and throwin’. They had this one fella, I forget his name, but he could run like the wind. And that Manning fella, he could throw that ball far, like a slingshot. The 2010 Indianapolis Colts roster was full of ’em, good players.
Now, they didn’t win every game. Lost a few, here and there. Six losses, I think. But they won more than they lost, that’s for sure. They played that New York Jets team, and it was a close one. Lost by just one point, 17 to 16. Oh, that was a heartbreaker. Like bakin’ a pie and burnin’ the crust, so close!

They had the 8th best yards per play, whatever that means. Sounds fancy. They were also 12th in conversion rate. My grandson told me that means how often they turn chances into points. These 2010 Indianapolis Colts stats are all over the place! They also had a lot of those “explosive plays.” I guess that means they moved the ball real fast sometimes. Like a firecracker goin’ off!
Even though they didn’t get 12 wins like they usually do, those 2010 Indianapolis Colts still won the AFC South. That’s like winnin’ the county fair for the best pig, a big honor! They did that seven times in eight years. Seven times! That’s more than the days in a week. They were good and played hard.
Those games were excitin’ to watch. Everyone would gather ’round the TV, yellin’ and cheerin’. Even old folks like me, who don’t know much about football, could see they was somethin’ special, those 2010 Indianapolis Colts.
I remember one game, they was playin’ against a team with blue uniforms. Can’t remember their name, but they was tough. Our Colts, they was wearin’ white that day. And boy, did they play hard. Runnin’ and jumpin’, throwin’ that ball. It was a real show.
They had some tough times too. Some of the players got hurt. You know, football’s a rough game. Like fallin’ off a horse, you can get banged up pretty bad. But they kept playin’, even when they was hurtin’. Tough bunch, those Colts.

- Peyton Manning, he was the leader.
- They had a good kicker too, made lots of field goals.
- The defense, they was like a brick wall, stoppin’ the other team.
That 2010 season, it was somethin’ to remember. The 2010 Indianapolis Colts, they gave us a lot to cheer about. They worked hard, played hard, and made us all proud. Even though they didn’t win the whole thing, they was still winners in our hearts. Like a good harvest, you might not get every single crop, but you still got plenty to be thankful for.
That’s the story of the 2010 Indianapolis Colts, as best as I can tell it. A bunch of good boys, playin’ their hearts out. They made us all proud, that’s for sure.
